Three Spires

These spires have dominated Coventry's skyline for hundreds of years.
I can say from experience, it isn't easy to photograph all 3 together
these days.

All three survived World War II air raids.
From left to right is Holy Trinity Church,
Christ Church (the church did not survive)
and Coventry Cathedral (the church now in ruins).

Taken in Greyfriars Green, Coventry

Those are unusually tall spires, which makes the churches look very fascinating.

You did a great job. It's probably a bit easier to get all three when the leaves are off the trees, right? Quite sad, though, that two were destroyed.

I did a "spire" today, too. Sort of. It's not as good as your spires, but hey, I can only do so much with the material I've got! :))

And very cool you caught them all together! I agree with Deb, it's a shame two are destroyed now...

Sad that only one church survived!

A good angle on the shot, Lauren!

Those buildings in the foreground do not help the view.

So many important structures were damaged or destroyed in WWII. It is good that these three were spared.

So pleased to find your blog. I worked in Coventry during 1963 and 1964 whilst on a working holiday. Long time ago, but I still remember those spires. I worked in Shelton Square in a K Shoe shop. Wonder if it is still there.

The spires look great amongst the bare trees. I'm sure this view will be different in a few weeks.
